About Mitch

My name is Mitch, and I homeschooled my youngest daughter in high school.  Halfway through high school, she became eligible to participate in a Running Start program during which she attended a local community college instead of high school.  She finished her first two years at about the same time she would have graduated from high school.  After community college, she transferred to a university and graduated two years later with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Creative Writing.

My youngest daughter’s experience with homeschooling had an influence on her older sister, as she is currently homeschooling her two daughters.  In addition, she will be homeschooling her third daughter, due November 2, 2017.

In addition to my homeschooling activities I was, for many years, a corporate trainer and mentor for a major video game company.  For the last several years, I have taught income tax and advanced tax classes for the largest tax preparation firm in the country.  I expect to continue my teaching activities in the tax field in the foreseeable future.

My experience with homeschooling and teaching in the corporate world has reinforced my love of learning.  My ultimate goal is to pass that love along to the next generation of learners, both familial and corporate.

  1. Hi Mitch,

I believe it is wonderful that you home schooled your daughter, and are passing homeschooling on to the Next Gen.

It takes a special mentor to have the patience and skills to do this well.

The success of your homeschooling speaks for itself, and you daughter graduated college in the same time she would have graduated high school had she not been home schooled.

    Fabulous work!
